BATHERS CONVENIENCES
LOCKERS AT THE TE ARO BATHS. At last evening's meeting of the City Council, the following recommendations of the Baths and Beaches Committee were agreed to: — "That, in' order to provide storage accommodation for valuables bclonginoto bathers at Tp. Aro Baths, the City Engineer he authorised to, immediately erect sets: of'4B and 32' lockers in the men's and.women's'baths, respectively at a cost of about £50, and that a charge of Id. be made for each use, in addition to which the hirer bo required to deposit the sum of Is., which will be refunded on the return of the key," "That the request of tlis Island Biy Surf Club for the erection'of a diving board on the rocks 011 the eastern side of Island Bar be not granted, but that the City Engineer be instructed to erect a diving pier in the water a little disant from the shore, subject to the Wellingon Harbour Board's approval being obtained.". "That the City Engineer be authorised to snend np to between £2 and £3 in placing the reel on the Island Bay beach in repair, and also sp"nd £lf) in erecting a shed for tho reel, provided tho Surf Club makes satisfactory arrangement"! for tho key of sucli slied to bo available 011 all times."
