The weather left nothing to bo desired, and . the outing proved a happy relaxation j from trying fiscal worries and war ac- ( counts. Tho programme included a . cricket match, which was won by Audit ] by six wickets and 48 runs, Barker and ■ Henderson making the leading scores. , In the sports, tho winners of the prin- , oipal events were: 50yds. race, Wylie; j 75yds., Ludbrooke; ladies' race, Miss | O'Meara; 220 yds., Dowdy and Wylie , (dead heat); ladies' swim, Mrs. Rhodes i ] married men's, Barker; ' men's swiis, j M'Neilly, Through the kindness of Mr. Chittey, a game of bowls was arranged ] on the Eastbourne creen, and after : an even i game tho Treasury gained a j win by 24 points to 21. The respective teams were as follow:—Treasury: Hawthorne, Stock, Chittey, and Scott (s.). Audit: Col. I{. J. Collins, Holden, Nyldor, and Dumbcll (&.). Tho thanks of 1 the players are due to Mrs. Chittey for providing afternoon tea.
