MAGISTRATE'S COURT

Mr. W. G. Riddell, S.M.. presided at yesterday's sitting of the Magistrate's Court, and had to deal with a few cases only. John William Ross, James M'Millan, and Henry Thrirvaldsen were convicted of playing an unlawful game on tl:e King's Wharf. In all three .cases a fine of 40s. was imposed, tho alternative being seven days' imprisonment. • . For drunkenness, William Crilly was fined 205., and Minnie Neilson .os., light alternatives being fixed in each case. Five first-offending inebriates were leniently dealt with.
