•THE EFFECT IN TAUMARUNUL By Telegraph.—Press Association. Auckland, February £!. The "Herald's" Taumarunui cornspoiident telephoned late to-nipht stating that Mount Ngarualioe is • erj active. Flashes of fire were seen it Taumarunui, in spite of tlio intervening hills. Telephone messages are coming through to Taumarunui from set-' tiers saying that the activity of the mountain is very marked. The effect in Taumarunui resembles strong lightning. La'tcst advices, timed 11.35 p.m., stated that all was then quiet.
