His Honour Mr. Justice Hosking will leave for Auckland at the end of the present week. \

Mr. G. Hogbeu, C.M.G., has received a letter from the Rev. J. Clark Gibson, Wesleyan chaplain with the 13th Division, relative to tlie death of his son, Sergt. George M. Hogbcn, of the Main Expeditionary Force, who was killed in the great offensive at Anzac in August last: "He lies buried," says the chaplain, "in a cemetery overlooking the Aegean Sea, with the islands to full of sacred associations in the distance— Samos, Thrace, and Mitylene." Mr. Martin Kennedy, of Wellington, a director of the Bank of New Zealand, returned to Now Zealand by the Niagara on Monday, after spending a six weeks' holiday at Honolulu. Mr. Kennedy, who was accompanied by his daughter, returned to New Zealand much improved in health. Constable J. M. Fleming, of t.ha Lambton Qnav Police Station, was yesterday presented by his comrades with a handsome clock and silver teapot, uu the occasion of his marriage. Mr. D. M. Sandman, the New Zealand representative cricketer, who went into camp as a private, lias been promoted to be qunrtermastcr-sergeantj C Company, 13th Reinforcements. Mr. L. S. Drake, the City Corporation's motor expert, was taken home ill yesterday afternoon. It is understood that his condition is not serious.
