HUTT COUNTY COUNCIL
: o— The Hutt County Council met yesterday. It was decided to have by-laws drafted for the licensing of hawkers, pedlars, vohicles plying for hire, and the impounding of stock. An application to erect a telephone line between Wallaceville and Whiteman's Valley was approved. Mr. 11. C. Dick, Upper Hutt, was •appointed registrar of dogs. Mr. M. W. Yvclch, tlio chairman, of the Hutt County Council, has beoii appointed the council's representative at Friday's Conference, convened by the Mayor to consider what steps should be taken by the local bodies respecting the new recruiting scheme.
