Arrived.—Kinl (4 a.m.). from Greymouth. VICTORIA RUNNING LATE. Yesterday afternoon the Victoria left 'Napier in continuation of her journey from Sydney to Dunedin. On account of her delay in Auckland, which was caused through trouble with" firemen, the vessel will be two days late coming up the coast this trip. She will not leave Dunedin until Thursday, February 10, and after call-, ing at Lyttelton will arrive at Wellington on Saturday, February 12, leaving here the same afternoon lor northern ports and Sydney. Present arrangements are that 1 the Victoria will work both Napier and Gisborne on Monday, February'l4. She in , expected to arrive at Auckland on February 15, and an endeavour will be made to , clear that port for Sydney the same afternoon. RIVERINA FROM SYDNEY. ROSAMOND RUNS AGROUND. As the TT.S.'S. Company's Rosamond was leaving Napier on Friday night, she ran ashore in the channel, near -tho eastern . pier. The tide was about on the full, and the vessel' was drawing lift. 6in. aft and 7ft. 6iu. forward, and 6he struck the bottom at 8.45. The J.D 0. went to her assistance, but was unable to render aid, '■ the strong ebb tide taking the little vessel outside the piers, and she was mnable to get back, although capalilo of a of eight knots. The J.D.O. wa6 forced to remain out till midnight. After many attempts to get the Rosamond off, a line was put across to the western pier, and, with the aid of her screw and winches, the vessel floated off at 2.30 on Saturday morn- • ing. As the hull was apparently undamaged, the Rosamond went on to Auckland. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Captain R. Neville, of the Willochm, has gone to Sydney on holiday leave. Mr. Arthur A. Austin, of tho New Zealand Shipping Company's. Wellington office, went into camp yesterday with the 13th Artillery Reinforcements. Mr. J. D. Townsend, sccond engineer of the Arahura, has come ashore. Mr. J. Harwich has succeeded Mr. A. H. Robertson as mate of the John Messrs. N. M'Murrich and F. Morath, sccond and third engineers of the Paloona respectively, having come ashore, Meosrs. J. Townseud and J. Rennie have filled the vacancies. 11 , Mr. T. Harris, third officcr of the Komacd, has come ashore. The Shaw-Savill liner Pakelia arrived, at Whangarei for the purpose of continuing Homeward loading yesterday morning. She i Is expected to got away for Auckland this evening, and will./take her final departure from that .port on Saturday. From Now York, via Albany, the A. and A. Lino's chartered steamer Talawa arrived at Auckland at noon yesterday. As she has a large amount of cargo to handle at. the northern ports, it is not expected that she will reach Wellington before February 14. The O. and D. Lrae 6 Port Augusta, which " is at present discharging New York cargo . at Wellington, is expected to get away '' for Auckland to-day. On completion of , discharge at the northern port the vessel '' will go on to Australia to load for Home. The Shaw, Savill, and Albion Company intimates that the Tainui, leaving Wellington on February 16, and the Arawa-,. sailing on ApTil 6 for London, will now call at Rio de Janeiro In addition to Monte 0 Video and Tcneriffe. February 3. ■ Advice has been received that the New Zealand Shipping Company's BuapehUj which left Auckland on December 17, arrived at Plymouth on last—her due date. , Tho New Zealand Shipping Co. s R.M.S. Rotorua, which arrived from London, via way ports, yesterday morning, will get away for Lyttelton to-morrow. It will be Thursday next before the C. and D. liner Indrapura will arrive at Wellington from London. She is making calls at Gisborne and Napier en route.
