WAR RELIEF ASSOCIATION
: A OmODLAR LETTER.. In accordance with' a resolution proposed by Air. .Sidney lCirkcaldie at the last meeting ol' the \Var Relief Association the following circular has been sent out by the association: — "The War Relief Association of Wellington desires it to be publicly known that it has now commenced carrying out the work for which it was created.
"The secretary will bo in attendance during usual ofhee hours at his rooms iii the South British Insurance Company's building, Lambton Quay, for the purpose of receiving applications for relief from any wounded, incapacitated, or necessitous soldiers and sailors and auxiliaries, and those in any way dependent upon them, or those dependent on deceased soldiers and sailors and auxiliaries. Applications may also be niado by any branch of St. John Ambulanco Association or St. John Ambulance Brigade Overseas, or by any guild or committee whose members are working for the benefit of any hospital or for the making of equipment lor any hospital which may be established! for wounded or incapacitated soldiers and sailors and auxiliaries, provided that such contributions shall bo exclusively devoted to the comfort or treatment of soldiers, sailors, and auxiliaries. As it is not considered desirable to publish details regarding the nature of such relief as may •be authorised by the Belief Committee, a monthly statement showing the number and nature of the applications received, together with a statement showing the total amount of money voted will be given to the Press "Accredited members of the Press will, upon application, be given full particulars in detail of any case brought bofore the association, providing an undertaking is given not to disclose tho identity of the applicant."
