\ SUICIDE AT AUCKLAND. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, February 5. Ethel Evelyn Davis, agod thirtythree, -was found dead at the residence of her parents, Onehunga, this morning. The motlior saw that her daughter's bed was unoccupied, and a search disclosed lior dead body under an apple tree_ in tho garden, ivith a, bottlo containing a poisonous liquid alongside. INJURED BY PREMATURE BLAST. Wanganui, February 6. . A man named Charles Carlson, while engaged in road making at Tefcuhi, up. the Wanganui River, -was badly injured about the face by a premature explosion of blasting powder, and brought to the Wangauui Hospital by launch this afternoon. DROWNED IN THE HUTT RIVER, The Coroner (Mr. D. G. A. Cooper) conducted an inquest at Lower Hutt on Saturday concerning the death of Reginald Mumford, who was drowned in the Hutt River on Thursday last. Evidence was given by : Geo. Mumford (father of tho deceased). Frank Eddio (a youth who witnessed the occurence), and William Manle (who recovered the body), and a verdict was returned that the deceased met his death by being taccideiitally drowned in the Hutt River. SCHOOLBOY'S DEATH. The police were advised yesterday of the death of a solioolboy, named Frank .Rossiter, whose parents reside at 28 Horner Street,' Wellington South. The lad was ill on arrival home from school on Thursday last, and since then had been at home under his mother's care. He died yesterday morning, apparently from some throat trouble. An inquest will probably be held.
