The British 6teamer ; Silversnell and the Japanese steamer Takata Maru (6718 tons) collided 200 miles southeast of Cape llac'o (Newfoundland) on Tuesday evening..' Wireless ; reports ■ state that the Takata Maru sank, rapidly, and tho Silvsrshell was badly damaged, but expects to remain afloat. February 4. • The Japanese liner Dairen Maru was sunk in'collision with the steamer Linan near Swatow. Only 2V out of 181 of'tho Dairen Maru's passengers and crew were saved.. _ [The Dairen Maru is (i vessel of 4583 tons, and was built in 1898. - Hie Lilian is a steamer of 2211 tons, was built.in 1903, and is owned by the China Navigation Company, Ltd.]
