A meeting of the meat trades representatives opened a subscription for the British Red Cross Society and the Order of St. A representative committee was appointed, consisting of Mr. Gordon Campbell (chairman), Lord .Whitburgh (vice-chairman), and' Messrs. Harold Nelson and D. B. Reid, of lYuill's, to represent tho colonies. Subscriptions amounting to £3000 "were announced at the meeting. The committee is appealing to the meat trade of the world, ancf especially to Australia and' New Zealand •graziers.
