The water when the bath was first filled was so discoloured that the bottom could not be seen at tho shallow end. Now that the \Vatcr is filtered a small coin can easily be distinguished lying on the bottom of the deep end in seven feet of water. The bath presents a very attractive appearance, being equal in every respect to tho municipal baths of Dunedin,, Christchurch, and Auckland. An audience of about 1000 persons can be accommodated at galas.
