LARGE EXCESS OVER WITHDRAWALS. ... ; The Postmaster-General, Sir Joseph Ward, supplied to a reporter yesterday figures relating to the business of tho Post Office Savings Bank for the first' fortnight of the present year. These point to an excess of deposits . over withdrawals for the period, mentioned of £60,512. For th£ corresponding period of the previous _ year, the excess of- deposits over withdrawals was £39,450. "This large excess," commented tho Minister, "is no doubt due to the fact that there is-a plentiful supplv of money in New Zealand, and that the small investors throughout tho country are availing themselves of .the easy means of investment offered by the Savings Bank."
