NATIONAL RESERVE
The Hut-t Platoon of the National Reserve paraded at the Drill - Hall on Thursday-evening. There was a marked, improvement in the attendance, and tlie men, under Lieutenant Tosswill, were '-.exercised'.iii platoon drill. The various movements were carricd out in a very creditable manner. ' After the parade Shooting .practice was indulged in. Tho rifle rango. has been fitted with all the la'test appliances, and. some very good scores wore recorded.' The signalling class, tinder ..Lieut,' Parker, of the Post and Telegraph, is making great headway. The annual meeting of the platoon will he held on February 17. . PETONE UNIT. There was a good muster at last evening's parade of tlie Pctone Unit of the, National _ Reserve, Platoon-Sor-geant Reeve, acting as 0.C., in the absence of Lieut. Anderson. SergeantMajor Stewart was in attendance. The evening's.-work consisted of rifle drill, and the following li.c.o.'s tool: charge of the platoon alternatively:—Corpls. Smith and Robinson, and Lnnce-Corpls. Bond and Hope. Since rifle drill has been introduced, a strong interest- lias been exhibited in the work by the members.
