SWIMMING

Tho Thorndon Swimming Club has arranged to hold a soldiers' afternoon at the Thorndon baths to-day, commencing at 2.30 o'clock.. The programme will'include a _ 100 yds. invitation race, a SO.vds. handicap for soldiers, and a 250 yds. open relay race. An invitation to attend has been extended to. all the men in camp at Treutham, and it is expected at least 150 swimmers are likely to ho nrnsent. Prominent swimmers from all over New Zealmd have enlisted, and a number of those, including. many who have swum in championship events, will take part in tho racing to-day.
