Recently a report was circulated .in cen> tain Australian and New Zealand papers that it was, proposed to inaugurate a nevr steamship service from tlie Pacific Coast to Now Zealand ports. Concerning that matter, the Sydney "Shipping List" has the following to say:"—The rather remarkable story circulated in the American Press and certain New Zealand journals regtuuing the intention of a -well-known firm to establish a service to and from the Pacific Cuafit, via Sew Zealand, has proved to bo without foundation. The gentleman who was supposed to hare completed the arrangements' gave his assurance during last week that during his sojourn in America not one newspaper man had interviewed him on the subject.
