ONSLOW BOROUGH COUNCIL
Tho Onslow Borough Council met last evening. There .were present:— Tho. Mayor (Mr. 0. C. Crump), Councillors A. N. C. Palmer, A. L. Browne, 11. Bruton-Rule, C. Bowden, and J. M. Dale. The I-lealtli Department notified that a certain liouse at Kaiwarra was insanitary, but as it was understood that the pla'co was to be rebuilt no action was taken by the council. It was ros'ilved to give _ notice of penalties regarding outstanding rates. Lately the council has found that the water revenue has not corresponded with the amount'of water used, and Councillor Palmer, who thinks that an attempt to obviate the discrepancy should bo made, moved that the petition presented to the last council should bo laid beforo the present council. The petition suggests, as a remedy, the • engagement as nioterreaclcr of a practical plumber, who can make repairs as he goes his round. A report is to be obtained as to the supply of metal for next winter. The borough engineer (Mr. R. S. I?ounthwaitc) reported that the readings of the water meters nt Kaiwarra showed a registration of 967,000 gallons. The amount of accounts was .CIS 2s. 9(h
