BURNHAM BOYS ESCAPE
ONE RECAPTURED. By TolegTaph.—Press Association. . I . Oaniaro, February 2. On January 17, two youths, inmates of Burnham Industrial School, effected their escape from an encampment on Quail Island. On Tuesday, Howard one of the lads, was arrested at Waiana-. karua, near .Oamaru, but the other, named Grant, evaded arrest, and is still at large. .... . It is alleged that numerous thefts have been _ committed by the escapees during their journey to the south; Howard will appear before the Magistrate to-morrow.
