Cricket las for long been a popular pastime in the camjis, and during tlie liot weather swimming has had' its thousands of devotees, somo of the men being expert swimmers and lifesavers. The officers of the camp recogJiiso that it is a good thing to keep the sporting side of life beforo the soldier, as well as the soldiering side, and the correctness of this view is homo out by the way in which the men appreciate _ any effort to enlarge the scope of their athletic oxercises and recreations. Tennis is tho latest addition to the list of sports available. A number of residents near the camp have offered their tennis courts for tho soldiers' use, and soon there will be tournaments and matches held.
