MUSICIANS' UNION
_ The fifth annual meeting of the Wellington Performing Musicians' Union was held in the Charley's Aunt Club Rooms. Mr. H. B. Oakes (president) was in the clmir. One hundred and forty-live members arc now oil the list. The balance-sheet showed a surplus for general and benevolent funds. A sum of £5 us. was passed to a member who lias been in delicate health, hut is now progressing favourably. A letter of condolenco and a wreath (porcelain) have been sent to the late Mr. l<\ Martinolli's wife ill sympathy with her husband's death recently in Dunedin. The election of officers for the ensuing year resulted as follows: —President, Mr. Harold B. Oakos (re-elected); vice-president, Mr. T. T. Joy (re-elect-ed) ; secretary, Mr. J. F, Woodward (vc-elected); treasurer, Mr. Roe. IC. Hollow; committee, Messrs. J. Garry. F. Johnstone, 15. J. King (re-elcctcd)", G. Lawrence, and B.,Jacobs; trustees, Messrs. E. B. Gilchrist, A. Williams; auditors, Messrs. A. M'Donald and F. Wolfgang. Mr. H. Moschiiii, who has resigned the treasurership after four yoars' service; received a present in recognition of his untiring efforts on behalf of the union.
