THE WILLOCHRA'S WOUNDED
SOLDIERS WELCOMED AT DTJNEDIN. By Telegraph—Press Association. Dunedin, January 30. After being delayed outside the Heads all day by mist, the Willochra, with 196 convalescent soldiers on board, camo alongside the wharf at Port Chalmers on Saturday night, when the men were given a. cordial welcome. The Medical Board at once commenced its work, which was concluded by midnight. This enabled the Canterbury men to leave Dunedin by special train at 9 o'clock this morning. I Tho remainder of. the men were accorded a public reception in the Art Gallery Hall this afternoon, when speeches were given by tho Hon. J. Allen and Mr. Clark, Mayor.of Dune-' din, after which tho men were entertained by tho Otago Women's Patriotic Committee. The North Island contingent and the Southland section leave Dunedin to-mor-row morning. The majority of tho men are suffering from the effects of enteric fever. DUE HERE TO-MORROW MORNING. The Mayor (Mr. J. P. Luke) lias been advised that the returned wounded soldiers by the troopship Willochra, now at Port Chalmers, will arrive here by tho Mnraroa from the . south to-morrow morning. Tho usual procedure will be adopted in forwarding the men for Napier and New Plymouth on by tho early trains if tho steamer arrives in time. The Wellington men and others who are detained in town will be accorded a civic welcome by tho Mayor at tho • Town Hall at 10.30 a.m.
