The next best dispatch for correspondence addressed to Pago Pago, Honolulu, also United States of America, Canada, Central ■America, West Indies, Mexico, States of Colombia, Ecuador, Venezuela, British, Frenoh, and Dutch Guiana, United Kingdom, and Continent of Europe, via San Francisco, will bo from Wellington on ThursOay, February 10, by the Riverlna, and will connect with tho Sonoma, which departs from Sydney on February 16. The next best dispatch for correspondence addressed to the United Kingdom and Continent of Europe will be via Monte Video and Rio do Janeiro, per Ruahine, which steamer leaves Wellington on Tuesday, February 1. Parcels for dispatch by steamers and trains, with the exception of the usual Ferry steamers for -southern officcs, close at the Chief Post Offico, Wellington, one hour before the advertisod times of closing the mails.

As the last clearance of tho city receivers is made at 5.45 p.m. on Saturdays, all' correspondence' for tho Sunday night Auckland express must be posted at tho Ohief Post Office not later than 8 p.m. en Sunday. All books and sample-packets and newspapers for places within the Dominion must be posted half an hour before the ordinary letter-mail closes. Unless otherwise specified, registered letters and parcels-post packages must bo handed in -fliul money-orders obtained one hour before the ordinary mail closes. The .public are earnestly requested to register all letters containing money or valuables intended to be sent by post.
