It was unanimously! decided to re-form, and officers were elected. . During the course of a speech, Mr.' W. H. Rose, the ohairnian, stated that) ,'22,946 acres were, in wheat, and Mn oats. An increase of 6283_ acres, over last year had been planted in Waitaki County this year, in response to the appeal to grow more wheat, but thq serious dought had counteracted the dis« trict's efforts to supply mora grain.
