RETURNED SOLDIER'S GOOD YTOBKi Private J. Sell, a returned wounded soldier, left New Zealand with the Main Boy, and received a. bullet through the right lung at Cape Helles on May 8 last, after being thirteen day? in the trenches. Since his return Private Bell has been doing good work, and the most unselfish, task that he has undertaken is the sale of the M'Hardy Art Union tickets in the streets of Wellington. Private Bell naturally has a fellow-feeling; he knows that the wounded men will need a lot >>f care and attention, and lie knows that in selling these tickets he is doing a good work for his comrades. And Private Bell has been busy, without fee or reward, and his 6ales have amounted up to 60ma hundreds of pounds. The Art Union closes at 10 p.m. to-day (Thursday), and the drawing _ takes placa on Saturday. Country residents will have to telegraph their orders immediately, to the Secretary (Mr. E. Grant Sim), Bos 229, Palmerston North. Wellington people can get their tickets from' the tobacconist agents on Lambton Quay, and Private Bell will again be in the streets selling the tickets. The results will be telegraphed to Howe and Sowman and to Berman Bros., Tobacconists, Lambton Quay, on Saturday evening, immediately after the drawing.—Advt.
