LABOUR & WAR
CONFERENCE ON CONSCRIPTION. Yesterday morning a conference, convened by the Federation of Labour, to consider the question of conscription, was opened in Wellington. Mr, J. Dowgray presided over about seventy delegates. A considerable portion of the morning sitting was occupied with a discussion as to whether the daily Press should be admitted. The decision was against admitting the representatives of the dailies, and in favour of supplying a "manifesto" at the conclusion of the conference, It was staled that the following delegates were present:— ■ National Executives.
