This trip by the Maitai has been abandoned. Mails for Itarotonga and Tahiti close at Auokland, per Flora, on Wednesday, January 20, at 8.45 a.m. Mails for Australian States close at Bluff, per Wimmera, on Friday, January 28, at 1.30 p.m. (Correspondence, except for Tasmania, must bo specially addressed.) ,As correspondence for all neutral conntrios is subject to censorship it is urged to avoid delays thai such correspondence be posted in ample timo for the mail, tho day previous to its dispatch if possible. Parcels for dispatch by steamers and tra'ns, with the exception of the usual Ferry steamers for southern offices, close at the Chief Post Office, Wellington, one hour before the advertised times of closing the mails.
