The War Office states that an aeroplane visited the east coast of Kent ao 1 o'clock in the morning, dropped time bombs, and fled seaward. Official.—"Two hostile seaplanes raided tie east coast of Kent at mid-day. They were subjected to heavy fire, and disappeared, with our naval and military machine? in pursuit. Neither casualties nor damage resulted. HIGH OOMIMIsiIONER'S REPORT. The High Commissioner reports:— London, January 23, 8.40 p.m. "A hostile aeroplane visited the east coast of Kent at one o'clock this morning, dropping nine bombs in rapid succession, and then made off seawards. There was no naval or military damage, but one man was killed,' and two men,, one woman and three children were slightly injured. "In the afternoon to-day two hostile seaplanes attacked the same locality, but coming under heavy fire the raiders disappeared, pursued by our naval and military machines. There was no damage and no casualties."
