ALLEGED SHEEP-STEALING

A SMALL FARMER CHARGED. By Telegraph.—Press Association.

Tlmaru, January 24. Wm.. Tiplady, a small farmer of Hilton, near Geraldine, was charged today, before Mr. Day, S.M., with stealing four sheep from one neighbour and fourteen from another, about the sth instant. The alleged theft appears to .have been found out through accused having sold fat lambs to be delivered with another neighbour's. When put into this man's yard tlie double branding was noticed, and others similarly treated wore then found on accused's farm. Accused was committed for trial, bail being fixed at £100 and two sureties of £50 each.
