THE BARALONG AFFAIR

ANOTHER VERSION OF THE INCIDENT By Telegraph-Press Association-Copyright (Rec. January 21, 10.25 p.m.) Copenhagen, January 21. The "Aftenpoet-on's" London correspondent gives another version of the JtSaralong incident. He states the German submarine attacked the English sliip oil which were the American muleteers. The latter took refuge in the lifeboats and when the Baralong sank the submarine, the latter's crew sheltered on the merchantman. The muleteers then returned to the ship and wreaked their fury on the submariners. The correspondent adds: "It must not be forgotten that the evidence published iu Germany was taken in America from witnesses who received a fee and were not cross-examined. Ail inquiry would disclose the above facts."
