Lord : Milner presided, in the absence of Mr. Boriar Law! who was attending an. international,conference. 1 ' > : '• The Chairman said that wha.tevor difference had existed originally, the war had made them unanimous in admiration of, and gratitude for, , the magnificent fall an try of their distinguished fellow eroos from the Dominions, who were unsurpassed for soldierly qualities. The peoples of the Dominions, in' spite of so much that might have caused them to wsvor, had stood steadily behind theImperial cause. On many occasions critic uism and complaint might naturally have' arisen, aud England could not have re. ■s en ted it. But the Dominions went on, uncomplaining and uncritical ; . their single thought being to put their whole strength, into the struggle,' all ' their enormous material and moral. support, The future of mankind depended on our ■ success ■ Sir George-Rei3, M.P.j to ,the cordial assistance given to the office of the High Commissioner by the Admiralty and the Colonial .and War Offices. In spite of the numbers buried on Gallipoli, there had never been a word,of resentment. The Domiiiions were.determined to share the responsibility'of the Motherland. Tho Allies, were . teaching the perpetrators of the War--, the meaning of solidarity,- -. and 1 brotherhood among nations, aud would preserve the strength, integrity, an<] majesty of the Empire.
