Only a few days more remain in which to procure tickets in the M'Hardy Gift Art Union. The drawing takes place on January 29, and it is emphasised that there will be no postponement. It has been decided to use numbered marbles in the drawing, as the fairest method. Results will be published on January 31. The business block of land in Valmerston North, which forms the prize, is •rallied at .KiOOO, and u Palmerstou syndicate is ready lo pay JI201X) cash for it. The art union is being supervised by a. committee of business men, who are keeping expenses low, so that practically the whole of the money subscribed by investors in this art union shall be devoted to helping our wounded boys at the front. The books are open to public inspection. Tickets are obtainable at leading tobacconists and booksellers, or by post from E. Grant Sim, Box 220,'Palmerston North.
