Late on Monday night and early on Tuesday morning a sharp frost was experienced- in Temuka, and on Tuesday several gardeners had the misfortune to' see tlieir potatoes out down and blackened (says the "Leader").: One man bewailed the fact, that this was the third time this season he had wakened -up in theimorrimgand found the potatoes l .cut down.- On the other two occasions he managed to nurse tile greater part of the, crop, and was expecting he would have a fair yield, but now he will havo to dig the. plants at once; and make the best of a bad job. • Never has the demand for clear-headed constructive thinking in business been so urgent as it is Tight now.
