SEAMEN'S UNION ELECTIONS
RESULT OF THE BALLOTS. The annual election of the general secretary of the Federated Seamen's Union of New Zealand took place recently, and the result of the poll was declared last evoning. The present secretary (Mr. W. T. Young) has been returned with a majority of 137 votes over ■his opponent, Mr. G. Bowers. This is the first time for seven or eight years that Mr. Young has had an opponent for the position; The election for an assistant secretary of the Auckland Seamen's Union was also declared last evening, when it was announced that Mr. T. Anderson had been returned in place of Mr. J. Jack, who is in camp with the Reinforcements. Following are the particulars of both elections: — FOR GENERAL SECRETARY. ! Young, W.'
