PARTICIPATION IN POLITICS FORBIDDEN. Br Telegraph—Press Association—Otipyrleht Cape Town, January 15. De Wet's recent spoeches elicited much criticism, culminating in a public outcry against a reception arranged at Vrede in honour of De Wet and other released rebels. It is understood that the Government has written to De Wet recalling his undertaking made at the time of his release and pointing out the consequents if his undertaking not to take part in politics is disregarded.
