A fire at Bergen (on the north-west coast of Norway) all night, spreading to twenty distinct quarters, destroying the central telephone exchange, four-,hotels, and three schools. Many thousands are homeless. FIRE FANNED BY A CALE. DAMAGE RUNS TO MILLIONS. (Rec.' January 17, 8.5 p.m.) Christiania, January 16. A hurricane' is Wowing, and many of the buildings in Bergen have been blown Up in order to check the spread of the fire. -. - The damage has reached two ' millions and three quarters sterling.
