GENERAL NEWS A NUMBER OF PROMOTIONS At Tauherenikau the following tempoiary appointments have been made:—Sergt. W. E. Blanche, Headquarters Staff, Camp Military Police, to be quartorinastar-sergeant; Pte. O. J. M'Hattio, Ist Res. Company, 10th, to be orderly-room clerk. • At Rangiotu, the Commanding Officer has approved the following temporary appointments;—Lce.-Sergt. A. F. Pruden, to be sergeant; Corpl. F. N. R. Downard, to bo sergeant. Officers' Movements. The following officers have reported at Trentham for duty Captain J. H. G. Robertson, N.Z.M.C. j Second-Lieut. C. G. Baker, Inlantry (H Company, 12th); Second-Lieut. E. Hulbert, infantry (R Company, 12th); SecondLieut. A. G. Poison, Infantry (11 Company, 12th); Second-Lieut. J. Russell, infantry (H Company, 12tli); Sergt.Instructor R. L. Jordan, N.Z.P. Staff (temporary), as Infantry Instructor. The following officers have been transferred between the undermentioned unitsLieut. Craig, from 9.th Reinforcements to Ist Res. Company, 10th;' Second-Lieut. T. L. R. King, from Bth Engineers to 10th Engineers. Best Kept Hut. The silver cup presented by the P.M.O. and medical officers at Trentham has been won by the men of Hut 75, H Company, lith, who retain the cup for tho period Friday, January 15, to Friday, January 22. Huts 100, B Company, 11th, 126 F Company, 11th, 10, 10th' Artillery, 15. 10th Engineers, and 24, 11th Artillery, were also in excellent, condition, and rank next in tie order shown to the winmut? hut.
