Rear-Admiral Bacon s dispatch on the operations on the Beh'ian coast from August to December reveals that a British armed yacht was sunk bv gunfire and a drifter and mine-sweeper sunk by mines. The total casualties were thirty-four killed and twenty-four wounded. There were six concerted operations of considcrablo magnitude, and eight smaller ones The enemy lost a torpedo-boat and tw o submarines. We destroyed three military factories, thirteen heavy guns, and many depots. We extensivelv damaged the Zeebrugga looks, also wharves and moles at various places" Our killed included Lieut.Commander Gaitside Tipping, the oldest naval'officer afloat. HIGH COMMISSIONER'S REPORT. A Vienna communique claims that the Russians on Tuesday mads six attempts to penetrate .the Austrian lines in Bessarabia, and were repulsed and forced to a disorderly retreat. Eight hundred dead Russians were found in front of an Austrian battalion.
