PETONE FIRE BOARD
A special meeting of the Petone Fire i Board was held yesterday afternoon.' jwhen there were present: Mr. J. W. M'Ewan (chairman), and Messrs. Forsyth, Trueman, Ching, and Smith. The board dcided to purchase a "Studsbaker" motor chassis of 25-h.p., at a cost of £300, delivered at Petone. iTho matter of obtaining a body and chenVical tank was left in the hands of the local committee. It was resolved that the firemen [should do three hours per night relief duty at 2s. per hour, and three hours extra on Sundays, to relieve Superintendent Lepper, who is also to be granted a weekly half-holiday. The board also decided to endeavour to arrange a fortnight's holiday yearly for the superintendent.
