"William Jackson, £1 2s. Cd., ! costs 55.; Herb Price v. Sergt.-Ma.jor I A. Butler, 135., costs 55.; Salmond and Spraggon v. W. 0. Wilkinson, £9 Bs. 5d., costs £1 3s. 6d.; W. J. Edwards v.' B. M'Callum, £9 Bs. Bd., costs £1 3s. 6d.; A. J. Hulme v ' Charles Korone'ho, £1 95., costs 10s. JUDGMENT SUMMONS. Charles Edward Mullis, defendant, in a judgment summons case, was ordered to pay the sum of £9 Ids. to F. W. Lewis in monthly instalments of £1, otherwise he must undergo three days' imprisonment. CLAIM FOR POSSESSION. In the case of Hannah Jennings v. H. Galvin, judgment was given for tlie plaintiff for possession of premises and for the sum of 12s. Gd., with costs £1 12s. DEFENDED ACTION. ■ A defended action, whicli lad been set down "for hearing, was struck out owing to the fact that the plaintiff did not appear. This was the case, in whicli A. W. M. Salaman sued Mrs. J F. Hare for the sum of £11 Us., alleged to be due for goods sold. The defendant, for whom Mr. P. W. Jackson appeared, was allowed costs. POLICE CASES.
Police cases wore dealt with before Mr. D. G. A. Cooper, S.M. A remand until this morning was granted in. the case of a young woman, named Isabella Neilson, who was charged with the theft of a fox terrier dog, valued at 10s. Mr. H. F. O'Leary, Who appeared for the aocused, applied for bail, which was fixed at £1(1, and one surety of like amount. ' -Henry Grant pleaded guilty to a charge of stealing a tin of carbide and a tube of solution, of the total value of thirteenpence. He was remanded for sentence until January 18, and liberated on light bail. Mary Crowo, who was making her ■fourth appearance for drunkonness during the past six months, was fined 405., the alternative being seven days' imprisonment. John Douglas and Elizabeth Brady were fined 10s. each for drunkenness, in default to undergo 48 hours' imprisonment. Three first offenders were also dealt with. On a charge of being found in a state of helpless drunkenness, John Kelly was remanded for a week for curative treatment in gaol.
