RECRUITING IS BETTER
DEFENCE MINISTER HOPEFUL. ■ "We are still short of men for the 12th, and the blanks in the 11th have not yet been filled," said the Hon. J. Allen, referring to the state of recruiting yesterday. "Bub recruiting is certainly better, and I have every reason to think that we shall get all the men wo want. The men will recruit in sufficient numbers, we hope, to provide all our needs. But thoy must not delay. "Wo cannot afford to wait."
