Obituary.—Sir Samuel Way. " : [Tho Right Hon.- Sir Samuel Jamba : Way was born at Portsmouth, Eng- ' land, in 183 G. He was callcd to the ; South' Australian Bar in 1861, and made : Q.O.' in 1871. He was elected to the House of Assembly in 1875, and was j made Chief Justice in 1870. The only j Judges in the Britisji Empire senior in ] judicial service to Sir Samuel Way are j Chief Baron Palles, of Ireland, and; Lord do Villicrs, of South Africa. He] had been Lieutenant-Governor of South i Australia since 1890, and had • adtnin« ; istered the Government of South Aus-.j tralia eleven times between 1877 and j 1914.
