THE WEATHER

SUMMARY AND FORECAST AT 1 P.M. YESTERDAY. Present indications are for moderate to strong easterly -winds, backing to northernes northward of New Plymouth and Napier, and increasing northerlies and ■westerlies elsewhere. Warmer weather is probable, especially in'the East Coast ■ districts, but a change to unsettled conditions is likely to tahc place soon, with rain in most parts of the country. The barometer has a falling tendency. Tho weather has been changeable generally, and threatening at times in the north, but little rain has been reported.
