TO STIMULATE RECRUITING PATRIOTIC SOCIETY TAKES ACTION ' To give a fillip to the recruiting movement, the Wellington Patriotic Society has drawn up a plan of campaign which will extend over a week. The services of speakers with a gift of persuasivo appeal are being secured, and it is hoped, with the assistance of addresses pithy and to the point, to turn the thoughts of eligible young men irresistibly in the direction of the recruiting offices. Lord Derby has been asked to send a cable message of encouragement to assist the movement. The campaign will be inaugurated next week.

Before a recruit goes into camp it is the custom for his friends to make him a presentation. _ Mr. A. E. M. Rowland states that he is prepared to give a special rebate of 15 per cent. (3s. in the £) off all soldier's requisites, such as wristlet watches, binoculars, etc.—Advt.
