TEMPORARY APPOINTMENTS. The approximate date ,of extended leavo for tho 10th Infantry will -be from January 21 to January 30. The approximate date of extended leave for the 10th Mounteds will be from February 11 to February 20. Second Lieut. A. AY. Nisbet has been transferred from A.S.C., 12th Reinforcements to A.5.0,, 11th Reinforcements. Tho following temporary appointment's have been approved by the Camp Commandant at. TauherenikauPte. O'Keefe, N.Z.M.C., to be lance-corporal: Pte. F. H. Sell, N.Z.M.0., to be corporal; Corpl. G. E. AA'ood, A Squadron, 10th, to bo sergeant; Pte. H. S. Weir, A Squadron, 10th, to be farrier-corporal; Lance-Corpl. J. AY. Canavan, A Squadron, 10th, to be corporal; Corpl. A. Musson, 0 Squadron, 10th, to be sergeant; Corpl.-Farrier R. AV. J. Bridger, C Squadron, 10th, to be sergeant-far-rier; Farrier P. C. Byrne, C Squadron, 10th, to bo shoeing smith corporal; L.Corpl. A. H. Ellis, C Squadron, 10th, to be corporal; L.-Corpl. E. H. Hills, C 10th, to be shoeing-smith corporal; L.Corporal AV. A. Henderson, G Squadron, 10th, to be corporal; Ptes. AV. T. Probort, D. Knox, A. J. K. Penny, S. J. liawke, AV. D. Hill, F. T. Hunter, R. SOLDIERS' ROOM Thousands of soldiers have during the Christmas and New Year season joined in the jollity and good cheer arranged for them by the Soldiers' Room Committee. On Friday the meals \vere continuous the table nover bein'g empty from 12 midday to 11 p.m. 'Dancing and song brightened the evening, the soldiers joining in with great spirit. New Year's Day was amply provided for, the same arrangements "being repeated. There was lunch on Sunday and tea and supper as usual. To-day there will be lunch, and tho usual programme, Mrs. Massey, the president of the room, and tho committee are anxious that tho mothers and sisters of our soldiers should realise that in AA r ellington there is provided an institution where the boys may pass their time in wholesome fun, and where thej; will he made very welcome. All soldiers, returned and on leavo, are the welcome guests of the committee. Before a recruit goes into oamp It is the custom for his friends to make him a presentation. Mr. A. E. M. Rowland states that he is prepared to;give a special rebate of 15 per cent. (3s. in thte <£) off all soldier's requisites,' such as wristlet watches, binoculars, etc.—Advt.
