SUMMARY AND FORECAST Present indications for variable winds, moderate to strong southerlies predominating, and backing to north-easter-lies. Weather fair to cloudy, with clearing showers, especially on the East Coast of tho North Island, tho barometer' fallinj again everywhere shortly. The rear of a disturbance is now apparently passing eastward of East Oape, and accounts for cold, showery, and changeable weather on all the eastern const, with moderate to strong southerly winds generally, but a gale is reported at East Cape.
