The advertised times for closing mail* by steamevs arc liable to alteration (earlier or later) at any moment. The parcel-post mail per Main Trunk exprCv's closes at the 0.P.0. at 11.30 a.m., and for the aoutli, per ferry steamer, at 5.45 p.m. , „ On Friday, December 31, the Carriers' Department (entrance upstairs from Fcatherston Street) will be open for the delivery of correspondence addressed to streets in tho city and suburbs from 8 to 9 p.m.; also the public counter for the delivery of correspondent addressed to the Post Office will be open from 8 to 9 p.m. The parcels delivery counter will be open from 8 to 9 p.m.^ On Saturday, January 1 (New 1 car 3 Day), tho Postal Department will bo, closed in all its branches.
