WHAKATANE DAMAGED
REPORTED TO HAVE BEEN IK COLLISION. Bj Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright (Rec. December 28, 8.50 p.m.) London, December 28. The Whakatane has arrived ai Gravesend damaged. It is reported she was in collision in tie Downs. [The Wliakatane, a vessel of 5902 tons, in command of Captain Barnes, is owned by the New Zealand Shipping Company. After picking up a small quantity of carpo at this port , the Wliakatano left for Sydney on Sunday, October 3. She filled up for London on the other side and called at Adelaide on October 23, and Fremantle on November 2.]__
