INVESTIGATION NEEDED.
• 11 have heard it stated more than, once that a groat deal of mnecKsary waste of food goes on at tho various military camps. At TreJitiham, I understand , there is a particularly great wastage. There must bo some gravo mismanagement somewhere in this department. Probably amateurs have the ordering of supplies and tho food is served out in an amateurish manner, too. It is shameful if tho taxpayers havo to foot the bill for ( gross extravagance, and it must/he appalling to see good food wasted. I understand also that there are still complaints that gifts sent to tho soldiers from relatives ana friends do Hot reach them at all. or are considerably delayed. The parcels, lam led to believe, are sent through the ) poet, but probably they get hung up m tho military delivery department. The matter needs investigation.—l am, etc., CIVILIAN.
