Messrs. Dalgety. and Company, Ltd., report having held their monthly sale In the Otaki yards on Tuesday, when they offer-, en an exceptionally good yarding of both elicep and cattle. Demand lor 6heep was "exceptionally keen. The same applied to tat and forward cows,-lor which there was a good entry. - Among the entries was an exceptionally nice line. : of 250 four-tooth wethers, on account of Mr. E. W. Fleming, which were in fair condition and well grown. Under spirited competition Khe line was sold under the hammer at. the satisfactory figure of 235. Id. Other sales were as under Heavy-weight fat. ewes, 2os. to 245.; medium two-tooth store wethers, 21s. 4d. to 21s. 9d.:. small two-tooth store wethers, 19s. 6a. The New Zealand Loan and Mercantile Agency Company, Ltd., report:—On Monday we held a clearing sole ot dairy stock on account of Messrs. W. and It. Bovan, Manakau. Competition was keen throughout the sole, which proved highly satisfactory to the vendors, considering the lateness of the season. At Aldington live stock market to-day oxport buyers were not operating, as the local freezing works hflve a sufiicicnt stock booked to last until the works close for the holidays. Store sheep showed a little improvement. Fat lambs sold well until butchers filled their requirements. Prime fat sheep were fairly firm. Fat cattle showed a slight decline. Store sheep: Forward wethers, 18s. 6d. to 19s. 10d.; others, 15s. 6'cl. to 18s. 3d.; good lambs, 95., 10s. &d.; medium, 76. to Bs. 9d.; four and eta-tooth ewes, 13s. 6d. to 14s. 5d.; two-tooth ewes, 13s. fld. to 15s.
