Messrs. Dalgety. and Company, Ltd., report having held their monthly sale In the Otaki yards on Tuesday, when they offer-, en an exceptionally good yarding of both elicep and cattle. Demand lor 6heep was "exceptionally keen. The same applied to tat and forward cows,-lor which there was a good entry. - Among the entries was an exceptionally nice line. : of 250 four-tooth wethers, on account of Mr. E. W. Fleming, which were in fair condition and well grown. Under spirited competition Khe line was sold under the hammer at. the satisfactory figure of 235. Id. At Aldington live stock market to-day oxport buyers were not operating, as the local freezing works hflve a sufiicicnt stock booked to last until the works close for the holidays. Store sheep showed a little improvement. Fat lambs sold well until butchers filled their requirements. Prime fat sheep were fairly firm. Fat cattle showed a slight decline.
