FIGHT FOR CRATEHS FRENCH SUCCESS IN VOSGES London, December 21, 11.30 p.m. High Cominissioner's report: — "To-day the enemy made two determined. efforts to occupy the craters opposite Armentiers, accompanying the attacks by artillery curtain fire, tut after stubborn bombing contests both attacks were repulsed. .The enemy exposed himself freely, losing heavily." London, December 22, 12.50 a.m. "Oil the height of Rieupt, north of Pont-a-Mousson, we opened a destructive fire on the enemy's salient with good results. "In the Vosges, at Hartmanswielerkop, we attacked with infantry after preparation by artillery fire, which enabled us to occupy a considerable por-, tion of the enemy's works. Some prisoners were captured." .
